SGT HELLMAN CHARLES First off, before joining the military, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I was just kind of floating around in high school and trying to keep up with classes. One afternoon, he did a lunch display, and after we spoke, I immediately knew that I'd be part of the National Guard. Although my process was fairly easy, I had some hindrances along the way that stressed me out at the beginning. I had weight problems, and MEPS crushed me when they told me I'd have to come back 15 pounds under, but Sgt. Hellman helped me work out a plan that made me reach my weight goal in about a month. Secondly, my ASVAB scores on day one were 'bleh,' but he gave me resources and recommendations for studying. He also made sure I shipped out the summer I was supposed to go for training and worked with me the whole way to ensure I had no problems. I'm happy he was the first experience I've encountered in my military career so far. I'm at my unit right now, and boy, it's hard to find leadership like what he offers. Solike, hes like the best!
