Enrolled child at 5 for math and reading. After a year I can see the benefit of the diligent / daily work to build up his confidence.

Kumon of Aspen Hill-Wheaton is a wonderful place for the growth and enrichment of a child. I say that because of the progress I see in my child after six months. The reading ability, counting, and basic mathematics concept have developed highly. It was a hard time during the start of the pandemic when our daycare was closed, and our child was not old enough to go to elementary school. We saw a decline in sounding words and math concepts during the stay home period when we were teaching her. Once we enrolled her in Kuman of Aspen Hill, it was a breath of fresh air for our child that she was learning in a good environment and picked up reading and math quickly. We do both online and on-center classes, which is preparing my child for school. Ms. Shyla is passionate about what she does and how she runs the center. For her, the safety of the kid comes first and has rules set so that everyone is safe. Every student is more than 6 feet apart, everyone sanitizes the hand before and after the class. The desk and the chairs are sanitized after every session. There is a clear plastic shield between the student and teacher for younger children like ours, who need more face-to-face instruction. I noticed that besides math and reading is that Ms. Shyla and other instructors also help the children be disciplined about their work. When classwork is accurate and on time it is rewarded. Ours got a medal for scoring 100% on the test. Moreover, the interaction with teachers is what I value most for a child's social development. All of this makes reading and writing fun at the Kumon of Aspen Hill-Wheaton.
