Greg and his team did an OK job for my driveway, but destroyed all the front yard bushes. Now I need to hire someone to remove the bushes and re-do my front yard garden. Even worse, their work left a lot of concrete stain on my garage door, which cannot be removed easily (tried power wash, but did not work). They promised they would come back to clean it but NEVER came back and NEVER replied my message after I sent them the remaining balance. Very disappointed!

TL;DR As a young company, I believe Bart Outside Solutions has a lot of areas to work on such as handling customer concerns in a professional manner, being transparent from beginning to end, and providing reliable communication and scheduling. The lead contractor seemed friendly and trustworthy at first, but over time I realized that his actions did not match his words.I ended up using Bart Outside Solutions again for a roof replacement in the Spring of 2021. He offered a very low price (red flag) but assured me he had the expertise to get the job done. It was my mistake to have trusted him and take his word for it. I didn't even consider getting quotes from other companies because I had confidence in their workmanship at the time. Less than 3 months after the roof was replaced, the roof above my utility room started leaking during a thunderstorm and the room started flooding (pictured). I reached out to the company immediately and they offered to stop by the following morning to patch the roof. Sure enough, they were at the house around 7 am and on my roof to patch it up. It appeared that the pipe above the utility room was the source of the leak. I left for work in the middle of their job but when I got home, I found that they simply put tape around the pipe (pictured). I was in disbelief that that would be considered a "patch" by someone who considers himself a professional. Needless to say, I was not satisfied. I decided to let the experts inform me about the condition of the roof. The following week, I had 3 roofing companies come out to assess the roof and the patch and all 3 independently came to the same conclusion: the roof was not replaced properly and needed a 2nd full roof replacement. One of the major flaws was the fact that the company improperly reused old insulation boards from the previous roof to attach to a different roofing material (pictured). These insulation boards sit on top of the plywood that was also supposed to be replaced, if damaged. However, the insulation boards were never removed to even assess the condition of the plywood. As a result, the new roofing material did not adhere to the board properly, leaving multiple gaps in between the sheets (pictured). The roofing material was also poorly installed around all the roof structures with scraps protruding out (pictured). There are still soft spots on the roof, which is a clear indication that damaged plywood still remains. I am now left with a 3 month old roof that is in worse condition than the 10+ year old previous roof. The worst part of the whole situation is not even the roof -- it's the way the lead contractor handled the situation when confronted with the issues. His first response was to immediately retaliate and argue that I paid a low price for the roof replacement therefore I should not be expecting the same standard as a regular roof. He added that my warranty would be activated and offered to stop by on his own time to patch the roof "in a proper way", to which I declined. I don't know anyone who would trust a contractor again after they placed tape on a damaged roof and called it a patch. Later the company used excuses such as an unrelated personal matter to justify why they were initially upset and made accusations of me. And lastly after the suggestion of a possible reimbursement was brought up, they quickly pointed out a technicality on their part where they titled the contract "roof repair" instead of "roof replacement" even though every written and verbal correspondence with the company over the course of 9 months (pictured) used the words "roof replacement" and the contract itself contained language pertaining to roof replacements, such as "replace flashing, replace damaged plywood, replace shingle roof". I'm not sure how the technicality of the words is even a justification for the poor workmanship. They also later denied there was ever a warranty on the job, although verbally the lead contractor would say multiple times in conversation that there was a "10 year warranty" for all his jobs, not to mention the email they sent just 36 hours prior stating that the warranty was in effect. Apparently there is only a warranty when it's convenient for the business. Sadly, it seems like this was their last ditch effort to once again divert the blame and make excuses instead of handling the situation appropriately. At this point, I am no longer in communication with the company because I realize now that I am not dealing with a professional.I would respect the company more if they took ownership of the faulty roof and admitted to taking on a job they had very little experience with. My hope is that they would grow from this experience and learn to communicate with clients professionally, especially when valid issues about their work are brought up. It takes courage for a business to own up to a mistake. It's much easier to deny it or make excuses for it.
