I was rear ended on the Beltway 8 months ago which resulted in my third concussion and whiplash . I had initially sought care from a large institution in our area beginning with the letter M. They had me going for PT /OT/ speech 2- 3 days a week. After six months I was not feeling like I had made negligible improvement there. I also felt like some of the practitioners were making me feel like I should be better by now. Im so grateful to have come across MABNR. You will NOT be sorry if you come here. These folks are light years ahead of other traditional neurology and concussion practices in our area. When I first became a patient, they did extensive and substantive testing for balance, vestibular issues, eyesight, etc. This was markedly different than the other facility I had gone to. Im making progress now and wish I hadnt wasted six months at the previous place.

Dr. Jackson and team are phenomenal. Upon my arrival, I had a concussion. Dr. Jackson went to work immediately. They have one of the friendliest atmosphere in the world. His staff is phenomenal. Needless to say, after several sessions, I am back to normal. The flexibility they provide is wonderful. I'm happy with the choice I made in allowing them to help me with my situation. Great provider.

I dont think I can find the words to describe the EXTRAORDINARY experience I had at Mid-Atlantic Brain & Neurological Rehabilitation, but I will try. When I walked in the door, just barely being able to do that, immediately I was greeted with warmth, and cheer. Ms. Michelle, the provider who sits at the front and assists everyone with scheduling, financial obligations, and whatever else you may need until you are called to the back for therapy, she is PHENOMENAL. She knows how to work magic. Whatever situations you have going on, that may get in the way of your scheduled appointment, nothing is too hard for Michelle! Just trust her, and she will help you work around it. Her mannerism is angelic. She is the greatest!!! I was broken into a million little pieces, I felt horrible for a long time and yet, Michelle, made me feel as if I was walking the Red Carpet. Dr. Daniel Lane, and his staff, Mrs. Sarah, Ms. Sreyleak, and Mr. Adolfo, and I can never forget Dr. Jackson, they are all AMAZING. When I started therapy at Mid-Atlantic, I was barely able to take care of myself. I could not walk a straight line, I was dizzy getting up and dizzy sitting down. Dr. Jackson, and Mrs. Sarah, worked WONDERS on me. I dont know how they got rid of my headaches and dizziness, but they did. Dr. Lane, is BRILLIANT. He knew exactly what exercises were needed to put me back together again. Mrs. Sarah, and Ms. Sreyleak, (they did the majority of my treatments) WOW their bedside manner is just INCREDIBLE!! They both are professional and extremely EXCELLENT, at what they do. You get great treatment with either of them. Mr. Adolfo, is very professional. He did EXCELLENT, when giving me my test. I cant say it enough, this entire team, is EXTRAORDINARY!!! Simply the BEST!!! You cant find better treatment!!! I had excruciating headaches, I was horribly sensitive to light, I had tingling in my fingers, I couldnt stand without falling over, unless I held on to something. I could not drive etc, the list could go on!!! I could really elaborate further and further, I was in tears about my condition. I was frightened that I was going to remain in a million little pieces, and that would be my life! The amazingly, incredible team of Doctors and staff, that I have shared a little bit about, they wiped away my tears and got rid of my fears. Dr. Lane, and his PHENOMENAL team, put me back together again. Not only can I walk a straight line, I can stand on one foot without falling. I have no dizziness, no headaches, I can run, I am riding my bike, and Im driving!!!! This team is INCREDIBLE!!! If you are having some brain issues, neurological problems things are not moving right, or not moving at all, whatever your situation, I guarantee you; you can get the help you need. The team at Mid-Atlantic Brain & Neurological Rehabilitation, are AMAZING!!! They can put you back together again. Try them, youll be glad you did!!!

I started therapy at MABNR about three years after my initial injury. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in my cerebellum. After surgery, in May 2018, to remove the tumor I had many disabilities, they include cognitive decline, double vision, nystagmus, ataxia to the right side of my body, balance impairment and incoordination of my right arm and leg. At the time of my injury, I was an Active-Duty Officer in the US Army, therefore my health insurance allowed me to get treated at a military facility or a civilian rehabilitation center. I initially received inpatient rehabilitation at Saini Rehabilitation Center for TBI and Neurological Disorders. Then, I received two years of outpatient rehabilitation at the militarys most premier hospital, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and the National Intrepid Center of Excellence for Traumatic Brain Injury. I went through physical, occupational, speech, and vision therapy. After seeing some improvements, I reached a peak and the therapists told me they couldnt really do anything else to improve my recovery. I was devastated because after all the hard work I was still using a walker to walk, unable to drive due to the nystagmus and cognition and unable to live my life independently. MABNR was my last hope for recovery. At MABNR under the treatment of Dr. Lane with collaboration with Dr. Jackson I was able to achieve results I never imagined would happen. Dr. Lane was the first and only doctor to quantitatively measure and explain my brain injury related to my tumor and surgery. His therapy focused on how my brain works and how to improve it. Previous rehabilitation only focused on how to compensate for my injuries. After 3 months of therapy with, Sarah and Shrey, I was starting to see results. My nystagmus improved, ataxia, balance, cognition, and memory improved. After each period of therapy, I completed testing and Dr. Lane adjusted my therapy to target how my brain functions. At the end of the fourth month, I was able to start driving again. My cognition, balance, coordination, and memory continued to improve. I no longer needed to use a walker or cane. Prior to being treated at MABNR I thought I had received the best rehabilitation in the United States because I was treated at the premier military hospital and a TBI focused rehabilitation center, however MABNR has proved me wrong. I would recommend MABNR to anybody with a brain injury. I cant even explain in words how much of a difference the entire team at MABNR and Dr. Lane have made in my life. I am now able to drive, walk and live independently. I am very thankful to the entire team!
