First photo: car immediately after repair from Pohanka. Second photo: car after Pohanka fixed two problems caused in their shop during first repair, yet still giving a check engine light. 5 days of diagnostics and repairs totalling more than $3,300. Complained of transmission-like issues, Pohanka repaired the oil pump and oil filter assembly. First photo was taken 24 hours after pickup. Vehicle was returned to me with 29 psi in rear drivers side tire + indicator light. I should have walked right back in and made them fix it immediately BEFORE leaving Pohanka parking but I did not. Car would not hold air overnight and could before I left it with them. Pohanka eventually found a nail in the tire and patched it. Despite the misstatements of fact that Pohanka reps tried to give me about the check engine light coming back on after less than an hour of drive time post-repair, they found there was a leak in an evap line NEXT TO the oil pump. They even admitted they could not be sure they didnt damage it during the repair, which was miles away from what they tried to tell me when I first brought it back. The service manager misread and misspoke when she told me that i shouldnt be surprised that my car needs work again immediately, as she said they told me my car has lots of leaks and problems right there in the notes. Unfortunately she was somehow reading the exact opposite of what the notes said. I asked for problems to be found and fixed, which is what they were paid to take five days to do. IF she was right, which she wasnt, why would they not tell me about the problems or recommend further repairs? The notes ACTUALLY say no leaks and the service manager was 100% wrong. When I called her on this, suddenly she misspoke and then somehow believed the exact opposite of what the screen in front of her actually said. It is also noteworthy that my original service rep brought up me trading in this vehicle BEFORE I asking to authorise diagnostics. If youre going to try to use this tactic, it would make a lot more sense to do it AFTER diagnostics are done. I pointed this out to the service manager and she claimed some sort of fiduciary responsibility to the customer. It may not even be legal for a car dealer employee to suggest they are acting out of a form of fiduciary responsibility to the customer. Thats a very specific concept for certain professions which have a legal or ethical obligation to reduce the economic loss of their customers. A car dealer is not one of these professions. In fact there is a clear conflict of interest when a dealer is trying to sell you a new car. Theyre not just doing it for your own good, are they? So now we get to the second photo, taken yesterday, which was less than two days after the repair of the leak in the evap line that Pohanka may or may not have caused. Check engine light on, again. Baffled that Pohanka is unable to diagnose what is happening and why. Would have loved to give a 5 star review. Unfortunately unable to do that at this time. Would welcome a chance to speak with someone other than Crystal to improve this.

The Pohanka Automotive Group is one of the oldest automobile dealerships in the nation. Frank S. Pohanka was born in the Bronx in New York City.
