Genuinely the worst interaction I have ever had with any service provider, let alone a doctor. Dr. Katz was extremely rude from the start, continuously belittling me anytime I presented any data for his consideration that contradicted his weak and incorrect diagnosis (confirmed by a better doctor). Midway through my consultation, I realized Dr. Katz never even closed the door to our examination room, allowing everyone sitting in his waiting room to hear my confidential and sensitive HIPAA information. Dr. Katz was completely uninterested in everything I presented to him and instead was only laser focused on whether or not I "have ever had a headache in my life". Literally any headache, ever, even once. Since I said well, yes, I have had a headache once before (like everyone reading this I am sure), the entire examination went off the rails to diagnose if I had a migraine issue (I don't) instead of looking more closely at my other experiences. Finally, he provided a little print out that he gives all his patients advising you to avoid caffeine and a long list of almost every kind of food you can imagine. I truly believe he knew nothing about my condition and just defaulted to generic recommendations. To add insult to injury, he has a dog that he let run around the office (I'm allergic to dogs and pet dander and would have at least appreciated knowing this). I recommend you avoid this doctor at all costs. Would give zero stars if possible. I'm looking into filing a formal complain against this doctor if possible and judged by the other reviews here, I'm not alone in my experience.

Although Dr. Katz would often flatter himself with self congratulatory accolades, and projected great medical wisdom, I found his analysis and care to be subpar in the end. His defensive ego-driven bedside manner prevented him from admitting there may be other possibilities. Not only did he misdiagnose my rather complex condition, his treatments and advice were completely worthless as a result. Despite my frail condition, I found his chronic dismissiveness to be extremely frustrating to say the least. Sadly, any openminded, intelligent discussion based on medical literature is to be avoided at all cost especially if it challenges any of his premature diagnostic analyses... unless of course you're willing to be verbally humiliated in front of your family. Closed mindedness has no place in today's modern medicine especially when your patient is severely suffering from an unknown condition. Let that be a lesson and a warning. Note: Please remove all direct references regarding my so-called "boring" brain disease from your response doctor. I believe you are in violation of HIPAA regulations, and doctor/patient confidentiality. BTW, I did follow up 6 weeks later and that's when you decided to dismiss the findings while verbally insulting me in front of my loving family for no apparent reason. If you don't like what you're doing, please don't take it out on your complex patients. (Update: This site alone has generated 114 negative reviews (and counting) including endorsing thumbs. This new total has nearly doubled since my original post 3 years ago.)

He's one of the best doctors I've ever had. He and his staff have always been kind. I recommend him to everyone I meet who has headache issues, so many headaches involve the eyes. And he's an animal lover!

Dr. Katz is an excellent doctor. He treated me 3 years ago for visual snow. He is extremely knowledgeable and very thorough. Dr. Katz helped build a plan to combat the issue including numerous suggestions for improving the condition. Highly recommend.

Business Response on Google Jun 6th, 2020
I'm not sure why this patient decided to write this negative review more than two years after he was last seen. It would have been more helpful had he called me directly then if he was not happy.I explained to him then that although he had a multitude of various symptoms, my examination indicated retinal issues and ENT issues primarily, not neuro-ophthalmic issues. I recommended a trial of medication with a follow up six weeks later but I never heard back from him. He has other neurologists both locally and elsewhere that he had seen prior to my evaluation, so one would assume he followed up elsewhere two years ago.
