Massive sandwiches, freshly sliced meat, delicious bread....wish I could eat here every day.

My brother was visiting from the West Coast and craved authentic Jewish deli - Attman's exceeded his expectations. We had no trouble seating our wheelchair bound Mom. The pickle bar is amazing as are the potato knishes. This is a rare find - they have vegetarian stuffed cabbage. You can also order holiday food here instead of cooking for Pesach.

The 4+ star consensus rating is accurate, but the *Attmans Trio* is exceptional, rating a strong and enthusiastic 5 STARS The Attmans Trio, meant for sharing by two people, is smoked fish Nirvana. The platter contains Nova lox, a choice of smoked whitefish or whitefish salad, and a choice of kippered salmon or sable (the sable is $4 extra.) The fish is accompanied by your choice of bagel (toasted accurately to your specifications!), your choice of cream cheese (plain, low fat, scallion or veggie), your choice of sliced cheese (Havarti, Swiss or Muenster), olives and sliced tomato, cucumber and Bermuda onion. This is without doubt the best smoked fish platter that Ive eaten in the DC area, and satisfies all of my pent-up cravings for the lox and whitefish I enjoyed growing up. Portions are generous: with the addition of 2 more bagels with cream cheese, we took home enough for another lunch. And if youre not counting calories, try a slice of Smith Island cake for dessert. Thanks to Attmans for a fantastic meal. Cant wait until the next occasion!
