Islander Motel Ocean City

I stayed here last minute for 1 night while visiting OC. I was planning to just take the drive home but changed my mind. I wish I didnt! The room was ok visibly. You could tell the walls in the bathroom were not cleaned. No rags. No bath mats or floor towel to step on once you shower. After staying here I checked out early and went to breakfast and soon realized I had tiny bugs crawling inside my shirt and I was itching like crazy. The clothes that I had in the room were infested with these extremely tiny bugs that were almost too small to even see. I immediately saw a doctor and they confirmed it was body lice. The doctor advised me to go back to the hotel to tell management so they didnt have anybody else stay in the room. A very young girl came to the desk and said sea lice is common in ocean city. I had no symptoms of sea lice and these mites looked nothing like sea lice. I would avoid staying here.

they ran out of wash cloths and had NO back up plan for guests, terrible place. save your money and go elsewhere. This place is a hole in the wall. It's either run by people who don't really care, or are completely incompetent.

My brother and I reserved (separate reservations, separate credit cards) one night back in November for June 10th. It is the air show and this was a Christmas gift for our boys. I wrapped pictures of the hotel and the confirmation e-mail as a gift.On Feb 7th I received an e-mail that my reservation was canceled. I called the number on the e-mail and I was told my credit card didn't go through. I asked to please re-book but now their system wouldn't allow them to do just one night. The system wanted two nights. There was no way the girl could override it. I asked to speak to a manager and there were none available and the hotel doesn't open until April. I asked her to look at my brother's reservation and that too was canceled for the same reason. There is no way both our credit cards had issues. Plus I have been using the same credit card for years. Never issues. I believe their computer system had issues and canceled it because we didn't have two nights even though back in November it let us book just one night with no issues. The girl who answered my call took my name and number and I e-mailed the hotel with no return call. I feel they need to honor our one night reservation since this was approved and I received a confirmation e-mail back in November. I may have two very disappointed little boys.
