My Guys Moving & Storage

These guys are amazing! We had 4 movers; all were polite and conscientious about our things. They were quick and very efficient. We love that they even brought their own floor protectors. Hats off to Larry as well; very nice and knowledgeable guy. My Guys by far are the best movers we've ever used. A+++

These guys were great. We were pinched for time and they got it done. No wasted time, no problems and nothing was damaged.

After I wrote a 2 star review for this company last month, one of their employees called and offered me $100 if I would remove my negative review.  I was stunned!  Is this how companies do business?  Do they also bribe people to write good reviews?  Is this why some companies have only good reviews?  Did they pay off anyone who wrote a negative review to remove it?  I was insulted by their request and it makes me think even less of this company.

THANK YOU FOR A FANTASTIC JOB! We recently moved from our home in Gaithersburg to a smaller home in Frederick, MD. When planning for the move we recalled our last move which was the worst case of customer service that I have seen. That move was scheduled for 9:00 AM and the movers showed up at 4:00 PM, when almost complete, we were told that we needed to pay the balance plus time that they took to eat dinner in route, finishing up at 1:00 AM with small items missing. Not My Guys Moving in Gaithersburg, who were on time, very careful of both homes and furniture. We had them handled the packing of china, glass goods and art that we did not want to take a chance with by packing ourselves. From the move survey by Craig to the professional packing and move by Jorge and team of five, everything went just as promised and the cost came in exactly as estimated which was less than others that we had received. There was none of nickel and diming us on extra charges. We never expected that movers would treat our belongings like it was theirs or even better their parents valuables. I cannot give a higher recommendation than to say this is the only company that I would recommend to family or friends.

I'm quite peeved with My Guys Moving.  I knew several people who had used them and who seemed to like them, so I just assumed I could trust them.  I never even shopped around for another mover.  In addition, when they asked if I wanted to buy additional insurance, I thought there was no need because of course their movers would be careful.  Big mistake.  I wish they had told me I ought to buy because there was a big chance things would be damaged.  The day of the move I was happy with them because they didn't scuff the walls in the new house, which was freshly painted.  That's what I was watching for.  I even gave their guys a $150 tip.  They didn't thank me for the tip, so I thought hmmm, I guess they're used to bigger tips.  Then, that evening, my husband noticed that our bedroom chest and one bedroom endtable were scratched/dented.  I was annoyed, but since I don't like conflict, I didn't report it.  Then, later on when we were cleaning the old house, we discovered that the movers had ALSO broken a wood staircase baluster!  Well now that was too much for me, and I contacted them.  The guy who is managing the claim is pretty unresponsive.  He also didn't want to replace any furniture, but wanted us to get a furniture company to come and touch up the dents.  Well, when I called the furniture company, they also said that they didn't think they could touch it up to the point where the dents would not be noticeable.  In addition, if they did touch up, then the total claim (including fixing the balaster) would fall under $500, which is the deductible for the standard insurance (since we didn't buy additional insurance), so in that case, they would not even pay for the touchup!  The claims guy at My Guys Moving has not responded to my last e-mail from 1-2 weeks ago, and he never answers the phone.  In retrospect, I think the movers knew they had damaged property and felt GUILTY about me giving them the $150 tip, which is why they didn't say thank you!  All in all, I would never use My Guys Moving again and discourage anyone else from using them.
