Having been trained in sex therapy along with Joanne, I can assure potential clients that she is a gifted individual, couples, and group therapist. Her knowledge of how trauma impacts individuals is her greatest strength. Joanne is also a gifted sex therapist who is non-judgmental, supportive, and provides skill-based tools for couples to have a more enjoyable sexual connection.

Wrote a review of her years ago, which for some reason I can't find anywhere. Worst therapist I ever saw. Husband and I had two sessions with her. The first she kind of half-listened to what we wanted to work on (a very specific communication issue), trotted out some gender-essentialist ideas about how sex between men and women works, and was real insistent that my husband must have abandonment issues because he never met his biological father (he does not).  Second session, she clearly hadn't read her notes, so we had to reiterate everything we'd come there to be helped for.  She then informed us that my dysregulated emotions were the main problem in my relationship with my husband and that she couldn't possibly see us until I'd had DBT.Thank God I have a stable, loving, non-abusive relationship. Imagine the kind of nightmare that situation would have been otherwise-- abruptly discharging a couple after two visits after blaming the entirety of their problems on one person.

Joanne is a great therapist. She gets right to the heart of the matter. Therapy saved our marriage and I only wish we started sooner.
