We found Mary exactly when we needed her; A designer who had agreed to work with us on our bathroom renovation backed out last minute and Mary was available and excited to help. We were on a short timeline and she was not fearful of the extra work it took to get everything we needed on time. Mary listened to our loose ideas and expertly came up with a master bathroom and hall bath design that we both loved and was in our budget. Mary looked at our space creatively and was flexible when unexpected hiccups occurred. She was always available for both my husband and I as well as our contractor when needed. We are so happy that we found Mary! Our dining room, with traditional furniture purchased in 1988, was badly in need of a redo. Our tastes have changed over the years, and the rest of our house has a very contemporary look. We had selected a new chandelier, but we needed help from a pro. Mary advised on which pieces to save and rearrange, ordered us lovely new upholstered chairs and found beautiful and unique accessories to complete the look. The room is stunning. Mary also found a wonderful new entertainment unit for our family room and a new bedding for our bedroom. She has a great eye and wonderful resources for unusual and high quality pieces. This past month we opted to renovate our master bathroom. We admitted to ourselves that since we have little time given the pandemic, working at home with two toddlers and wanted to do things right the first time, we opted to go with a recommended designer. Mary was a force of nature from start to finish and a wonderful person. I can't imagine what would have resulted without her, her vision, energy, knowledge and persistence. I'd bet my life we'd still be laying tile had she not been involved. Mary solicited our ideas and really listened and understood our priorities and preferences on function, style and budget. We never once felt pressured to go any certain way in our style choices. We are ecstatic with the results of our bathroom renovation. Multiple people have said it looks better than the high-end, boutique hotel bathrooms. Mary exudes passion for her work and she weaves that passion with her strong desire to deliver quality work. As the typical reno decision points came up she helped us navigate them and things kept moving. It is clear she puts the customer first. Mary was super organized, and had a vision based on customer requirements solicited upfront. She really honored our priorities and was flexible if we had to change the plan. Mary was reliable, chose fantastic vendors and contractors and really drove things to completion despite the COVID-19 environment. Mary was such a delight to work with. We knew from the first meeting that she would not only listen to our wants with our kitchen refresh, but also listen to solve our needs. We werent sure what we wanted, but we knew some of what we wanted to improve. Mary presented solutions that were firmly based on our initial meetings and showed her thoughtful considerations for our daily functional needs and simultaneously keeping possible solutions aesthetically pleasing. Her contracting crew were top-notch. Her head foreman was also thoughtful in keeping the build quality and workmanship excellent and executed with the highest standards. Whenever we came across an unforeseen problem, He would find an elegant and high-value solution. He went out of his way to meet our satisfaction. Mary is so easy to work with. Again, she knows how to listen to the client and thoughtfully zeroes in on what clients needs/uses are and provides options that are both functional and visually fresh and appealing. The outcome was far better than what we imagined and didnt experience any of the negative situations that others might have experienced when working with home improvements/renovations. Testimonial for Mary Fishback Camellia Design Studio We are lucky our daughter Eila is Marys neighbor, knows her reputation, and recommended her to us. Mary addressed our unique situation brilliantly. To prepare for retirement we downsized drastically from a Potomac home to a condo that has 2 bedrooms and a study. Upon move we were unfortunately beset with serious accidents. That plus COVID did not give us any opportunity to update our furniture and furnishing. We were making do with the old comfortable but oversized furniture. Finding Mary took a weight off our shoulders. She is creative and gracious. For the living/dining area Mary found two stunning lounge chairs, a beautiful sofa, and a dining set scaled for the space. She created her own tile design for kitchen walls that is getting rave reviews. She found beautiful bi-fold doors for the study to acoustically isolate for conference calls without compromising light and view. She found other matching items such as picture shelves, poufs, pillows, and a medicine cabinet to complement an overall integrated design.
