Options For Senior America

Options for Seniors was so quick and easy to work with! I requested service for my father while he was still in the hospital, and was set to be released with no plan in place for him at home, but they were fortunately able to pull together a care plan and find a nurse who moved in with my parents that very next week! His nurse has been a godsend to both of my parents, but especially my father. He's very limited in functioning, and she helps him all day, every day! She also cleans up after him and cooks for both of my parents, since my mother isn't really up to that challenge anymore. I would recommend Options for Seniors to anyone looking for in-home permanent (or temporary) care!

If I could give less than 1 star I would. On the phone while setting up arrangments everything was good however the cargiver they sent us was absolutely horrible. She got lost coming to our home. I had to go pick her up from the store down the street because her ride left her there. She wore a hoodie which she never took off while in the house. She had horrible body odor. She had no nursing/care giver skills what so ever and could not reposition my Dad, or turn him to wash him. She jerked him around while he moaned in pain. Then my Mom and I had to help her to keep her from torturing my Dad further. After that she sat in the chair and did nothing. I wanted to send her out immediately but the case manager at Options asked me to let her stay for her shift. I only did it because she had no ride home. Absolutely disgusting to call this person a caregiver. Options assured me they would find someone else the next day but i never heard back from them. When I called back they said they were working on getting someone to come. Finally I said no thank you. I think the real problem was that they hire sub quality care givers in certain zipcodes and despite us paying the same fees they don't send the best caregivers to every area. I think if we lived in Montgomery County we would not have had this problem.
