Teresa is amazing. I've been going here for a few months and she makes me feel totally at ease. She goes out of her way and genuinely cares. The office is cozy and home-like. It's easy to relax and open up. I would definitely recommend New Market Hanai Ohana to anyone looking for a therapist.

Since getting out of the military a few years ago, I have struggled to maintain my fitness and resorted to using multiple weight loss products. But each time, after I would stop using a product, the weight would come back. So I came to Coach Kareem for guidance on how to make long-term lifestyle changes so that I could finally lose the weight, keep it off, and feel better. Coach Kareem tracked my eating habits on a daily basis through convenient iPhone apps and set up workout programs that fit my busy schedule. After three months of coaching, I lost a total of 8 lbs and I'm continuing to lose weight by making healthy choices, watching my calorie intake, and exercising.

She is an awesome therapist!!! She makes you feel very comfortable and that makes it easy to open up about issues. The home style setting makes it seem like you are talking to friend and not walking in just talking to a random doctor who doesn't care about you. She genuinely cares about you as a person and truly wants to help work thru whatever the issue is.

Initially she was very personable and my wife and I looked forward to going to see her. I went in for an appointment and my wife went in for a second appointment as we had requested before we started couples therapy. Issues developed when my wife went in for that appointment. Apparently the client after my appointment had voiced their concerns that conversations could be heard out in the waiting room, which my wife had also heard. Teresa told my wife she had fixed the issue, but I was unhappy as I was the one that the woman had reported being able to hear so I requested that instead of it being defined as fixed by her, I receive some kind of apology. I felt like it was an unsafe area and with my BPD/PTSD being in full swing, I wanted to ensure, from a counselor I wanted to see again, but felt hurt by, that this wouldnt happen again. When my wife and I expressed these needs to her, we were told I would never receive an apology from her. I called the next morning on her posted business number and left a message. I received a text back from her with new restrictions she was instituting for my wife and myself and again showed no signs she was remorseful for making a client feel such hesitation in trusting the situation. My wife decided it was best to just end our relationship with Teresa and move on, so she wrote her an email; the reply to which was what pushed us to see a need for a review. We were told that apparently contacting her during normal business hours and expecting a reply during such was not an appropriate method of dealing with an issue with the business. [...] Could you imagine if I let all of them try to consume my personal time like this situation is trying to? Boundaries have to be established and adhered to. I only make time for clients in session. Good luck to both of you. [...]" A counselor who groups clients with a certain medical conditions together like that and considers emails and a single phone call during normal business hours and attack on her personal time is not the best for most people. I feel that we could've gotten off on a much better foot if she was willing to accept some responsibility in not making sure it was a secure environment or apologizing for not paying attention to such important detail. I feel most people would do something like that if it was a friend they told could tell them something in confidence and no one would hear only to find out that someone was listening the entire time. ***EDIT*** At 5:42am, 09MAR18 teresa sent me the following TEXT message: I just wanted to set the record straight with you. I never said I wasn't going to apologize. [...] I said I would see both of you at your next scheduled appointment time. That will never happen now but you shouldn't assume the worst from people, especially fellow veterans So a supposed counselor decides that instead of an apology, it would be better to send a text message at an obscenely rude hour (personal time??) because she was unhappy with a review. Be very careful with the advice this one gives you should you decide to see her. Be even more careful if she has your phone number and you do something she doesnt like.
