I have plantar fibromas, which are cyst-like bumps on the arches of my feet. I also have flat feet, so there is constant pressure on the fibromas which keep (kept) me from walking for more than a minute or two; very much affecting my life. My first indication that something was wrong was when the podiatrist, Dr. Michaels, didn't know about Ledderhose disease. Ledderhose is fibromas on the feet. How could a podiatrist not know what that is?? Then he told me nothing really could be done except to make some custom orthotics. When I asked about some treatments I had read about; verapamil cream and hyaluronic acid injections, he was very dismissive. Cutting me off with "that doesn't work" each time. !!UPDATE: I found a wonderful podiatrist in Baltimore, got the hyaluronic acid injections and my fibromas are almost gone with no pain!! I can walk again!! While my office visit was very disappointing, I was shocked at the unprofessionalism of my visit notes when I requested them for the VA (Veterans Administration). Here are some excerpts. These are cut and pasted for veracity. 1. b/plantar fiborma b/l medail arch and has left ankel neoplsm and neds bx for his ad is obese with foot pain b **4 misspelled words and I have no idea what "for HIS ad" means-I'm a female, and I didn't request a biopsy (bx). 2. factors that help relieve the condition- our treatment **what sort of medical plan is that? If 'their treatment' had even been remotely true, I suppose this wouldn't have been so bad, however they did NOTHING to help. 3. Note: neoplams ankle on the left a nd difficulty wlaign **there was nothing on my ankle and no idea what "wlaign" is. 4. obese balck female wih ehlaros danlos syndrome ** I am not "balck" or black, for that matter. I DO have Ehlers Danlos; --they got that right even if it's spelled wrong. 5. Plantar fascial fibromatosis of left foot Today's Impression: will get dme and get gel callus scushio nand try this as we wil get cusom cmo for her with cut out **The fibromas are on both feet. The rest is basically gibberish. 6. Neoplasm of uncertain behavior Today's Impression: will bx **There was no mention of a biopsy (bx) 7. There was moderate risk of morbidity from additional diagnostic testing or treatment **"Moderate" is not the least amount, there is Minimal, Low and then Moderate. So, no idea what this means. So, if they can't be counted on to get my gender or race correct (and for the record BOTH are obvious), how could they be relied upon for treatment. Additionally, how can a professional medical office have such thin grasp on the English language? I hope that this review will save someone else from wasting their time with this doctor.

Dr. Michaels office was very friendly and helpful. I had two visits with him. He is very kind and caring, Passionate.. He cares for his patients. I love that he took his time and explained my condition of my right ankle. He give me my options of what he thought would work that would relieve my pain. I would recommend Dr. Michaels whomever has issues with there feet or ankle.
