Service to our veterans and civilians for free all you have to do every day is sign in all the staff who are Peer support specialist are trained Peer support specialists with the proper training. On our own is an organization that I would definitely recommend for anyone who is really interested in seeking help.

One of a kind organization that connects individuals suffering from mental health and substance abuse disorders with local educating/resources. Cute center, valuable classes, definitely recommend checking out! Without On Your Own my family member would not be where they are today and as successful as they are with long term recovery and independent living. -Thank you team!

They used to have a nice welcoming center with caring peer staff including Christine from Walkersville. After the COVID crisis I found that they had new leadership and gotten rid of Christine. They recreated the center as a place dealing mainly with resource needs, abandoning the mutual support atmosphere that prevailed at the West Patrick street location. In the new location they competently deal with social service needs but the new center lacks the mutual support atmosphere of the prior location and the new center features top-down command structure. The "owner" responded with a "not everyone deals with cnahnge" bureaucratic response that failed to address the two most important issues. The first involves the change in staff-attendee dynamic that left someone like Christine out in the cold and substituted personnel focused on resource needs. Further visits to the new site would be futile since attendees now come in to get their resource needs met rather than provide each other peer support. While the mission has indeed expanded the most precious thing available at the West Patrick street center has been lost in the transition. To characterize this objective reality as a subjective inability to deal with change is Machievellian in its sheer cynicism.

On our own of Frederick county is the absolute best, they do everything in their power to help people. They have expanded there services so that anyone can get help no matter what their situation is. There are all peers that work there so they understand the struggles that many people experience.
