Howard County Bureau of Utilities

We woke up on a Saturday morning to "dry faucets." Called the Bureau to find out if their was a county water main break. The call was answered right away (wow...who these days does that?!?!) and the employee told me he would check on it. He informed us nothing was reported but someone would be in touch with us about our specific problem. I thought (quite cynically I admit) "Yeah...right..." Well... in less than a half hour, HoCo Utilities was at our property checking the system. It turned out to be a break in a pipe on our property but he explained what we needed to do and cut the water supply off completely to prevent any leakages into the house. I could not have been more pleased with this service. You guys and gals ROCK!!

On Friday late afternoon, we found water leakage under the tree in front of the house. Very nice gentleman arrived close to 7ish and assessed the situation. He explained to us very thoroughly and told us what we should do. His name is Joe L. He was very knowledgeable. Who wants to work on Friday night? Fortunately, he did and we are able to sleep tonight without worrying about it. We truly appreciate the service we received today. Thanks

As a Local Plumber (Heil Plumbing) I would say without a doubt that Howard county utilities is the most responsive, informative, and helpful county to deal with in Maryland.

My lawn guys broke the sewer clean out cap in my yard. The cap got lodged inside the sewer line. I called several plumbers. One plumber from a reputable company straight out refused to even do anything for fear of pushing the cap deeper into the sewer line. So I called Howard County Utilities out of desperation with no idea if they could help. It took me 10 seconds to get someone on the phone, it was another 30 minutes before the team showed up to my house. Buck and Brandon (with Howard County Water and Sewer) came in, like a bunch of rockstars and saved me from an expensive repair. They were able to get the cap out of the sewer line & then they used a camera to verify that the sewer line was completely clear. These guys are awesome. I can't thank them enough - Khurram
