I came in here because the customer service number told me that I couldn't make an appointment, and I just had to wait as a walk in. I got to the Columbia, MD location, and was called up in an hr, which wasn't too bad. The office is clearly short staffed, and all the windows are not covered by SSA employees. When I got to window 4, the man told me they can't handle walk ins today and that I had to make an appt. There was no sign stating this at teh front door mind you! Then he proceeds to tell me my field office has no appointments, so I have to drive all the way to Silver Spring and hope they can do walk ins. The SSA employees demeanor was flat, and a tad hostile; he was not helpful at all and I left feeling agitated, annoyed and underserviced. What are people supposed to do...no one can take off work everyday- absolutely the worst!!!!

I had to update some things, arrived at 9am right when they open. That is the key. The wait was surprisingly shorter than expected,.

Made a 1:30 appt and arrived early. Its 3pm and still waiting.

Went in without an appointment ... Sign said approx. 2 hour wait without an appointment. Signed in a took a seat...Was called with in 1 hour and 30 minutes. Staff was excellent. Very polite. Actual business that need to be done took less than 5 minutes. This office is busy...so you'll need patience...But overall Great Service. Thank You.

There is one there who looks Hispanic, she is rude, classist and poorly educated. That woman's parents must be very proud of the thing they raised. That woman loves to humiliate others, it is a horror to go to that place and run into that woman. The security man is very friendly
