Great American Landscapes

This review is long overdue. We started our landscaping project 3/27/23 and not be any happier with the end results. It is now July and I can give a fair and honest review of the work and how it has held up for at least the last 4 months. We had a retaining wall placed at the end our driveway. The rain kept coming down the driveway and running over our small concrete ledge and spilling into our inground pool. We decided to have an 18 in wall built that was tall enough to be a seat for basketball viewers in our driveway. It has been perfect and the rain drains directly into the drain! In addition to that, we had new fencing placed around our pool, new steps with landscape bush edges, rocks with ground underneath to absorb rain to extend our pool area, concrete deck for our new Amish shed, removal of a well, removal of concrete fountain and a circular patio built. Pros: Steven Talcott is the best! I am not an imaginative person. Steve offered his expertise with the reasoning behind it. I am a nurse in a leadership role and we all know that the people want to know "why" and Steven reviews options and plans and the why's behind certain decisions. However, the customers decision is what is followed through (if different then their recommendation). The craftsmanship is excellent. I have been getting compliments from all my neighbors! His staff were very nice and courteous, always showing manners with please and thank you's. The fencing company was contracted out and when they broke a pipe in our ground, Steven had it fixed on his dime. When there were any delays (only on the fencing install), he communicated via email, phone and text. Con: the only con I can think of, which is not at the company's fault is that weeds will find a way to grow under rocks even though they placed over 6 layers of contractor preventative sheets. I think the only thing I would have done differently, is skipped the rocks and extended the concrete around my pool. Now, I'm just saving more funds until our next project with Steven and his team!

The Spring planter design Julie's team executed vastly exceeded all my hopes and expectations! I absolutely love it! I've appreciated the great work across the company, but especially by Julie Friedman with Exteriors Outdoor Styling, which handles container plants. She has designed beautiful arrangements for a window box and containers in our back yard, and I'm always so impressed with how quick she is to respond to all requests or questions. My husband and I contracted with Great American Landscapes to replace our stamped concrete driveway with brick pavers. They talked to us about options and indicated the scope of work including the logic behind each task activity. When they began the work, they showed up on time everyday and worked diligently throughout the workday. They made precise measurements and made sure each step in the process was completed to the highest level of quality. When the Foreman came to review the progress he spotted something that was not quite right, which my husband and I did not notice. Once the Foreman had the correction implemented, then we could see the difference and thanked him for catching that anomaly. The owner recommended upgrading our front steps so that they matched the driveway, and although that increased the cost, we are grateful that he made the recommendation. We are extremely pleased with the finished product and we have to give them the highest rating for professionalism, delivery, finished product. They are a fantastic company and very skilled and knowledgeable. Service: Driveway or walkway paving
