I started as an intern and learned so much from this company over 4 years. I now have a solid foundation in the healthcare industry. I will say that Distinctive's corporate office is very structured and organized. They do not tolerate gossiping or negativity. Some people were able to adapt and some weren't. I appreciate how well ran the company is because leadership starts from the top. Distinctive had a good incentive program and I appreciated being valued. I would have stayed to grow with the company but I decided to move and I went to college in Florida. Hopefully, I can return one day in the future.

I have worked for and with DHC for close to 10 years. In working with them, I was impressed with their professionalism, experience and overall knowledge of federal healthcare staffing. For new project/program managers, this is an excellent place to start. You will be provided training that will give you the knowledge, skills and ability to complete any federal healthcare contract assignment. The team was awesome to work with and extremely professional.

I started working at Distinctive in April of 2019. It was my first time working as a contractor, so I didn't really know what to expect. I was a little apprehensive at first because working for a company that is multiple states away seemed weird to me. That changed after the first few months working for them. Anytime I had questions, they were easy to get a hold of, whether by phone or by email. If I had any concerns, they were resolved in a timely manner. They were an easy company to work for and ideal for contract work. As long as you show up to work and turn in your timesheets, they pretty much leave you alone. They don't micromanage from afar. They will send you emails from time to time to see how everything is going at your site, which I appreciated. The pay is good as well. Much better than what I would receive working a regular job in my field. I even got 2 raises in the 5 years I worked for Distinctive. The benefits are pretty good. They have the same benefits as a full-time job. You get 80 hours of PTO and 40 hours of sick leave. The sick leave actually rolls over so if you don't use it, you'll have more for the next year. Because they separate the vacation from the sick time, you are not using vacation days if you need to go to doctor appointments or are sick in general. That helps a lot to make the 80 hours feel more significant. You also get it all up front on your anniversary date so you're not having to wait months to accrue enough time to take time off. They also offer a 401k with match. All in all, I enjoyed my time with Distinctive. If you are on the fence about whether or not to do contract work, I completely understand because I was too. I'm glad I decided to do it, and Distinctive is certainly a good company to start out with.

Update: Over one year later and this position is still open as I am continuing to receive emails about it from the recruiter that my resume matches. The hospital is now using a different recruiting company. Let that speak for itself. Terrible company for government contracts. Employees are extremely rude and unprofessional. The amount of turn around makes sense. They never get back to you when they say they will, lose your information, and dont know what they are hiring for. From start to finish everyone was very unprofessional. I highly recommend saving your time if you get a contract through this company and working elsewhere. Edit to reply: My credentials are exactly the same as the current employees and were provided in May with no hesitation. These credentials come from a known university and are board certified recognized in all states. My credentials are the only credentials you can have officially for the job. This should have been discovered during my initial interview months ago but was not as the indeed listing was not updated to list the credentials required by base until November when I applied in May. I had to repeatedly call to get questions answered as credentialing would not respond to emails. It took me calling multiple times to get responses. I was provided an incomplete email with instructions that had sentences not complete and missing paperwork. I had to return to doctors to get forms completed and pay the copay due to credentialing forgetting to provide me with the correct paperwork. On top of this, he was very rude through the whole process. I wish you best of luck with your future candidate and I hope a review of Jamal and his processes/ professionalism can be examined further to give the next candidate a better experience.
