Unique and wonderful edition to downtown Bethesda. Zero complaints about the food. The servings are Tapas style but portions are surprisingly large. The Bronzino, Manti, Brussel Sprouts were the highlight of the meal. Braise short ribs come in a big portion and legitimately come off the bone; great taste! Our waitress Kim was such a highlight of our experience as she not only is so kind and attentive, but extremely knowledgeable about not only the menu but specific ingredients and meat cuts. Will 100% be going back, especially when the rooftop will open. Vegetarian options: Manti, Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, stuffed vegan pepper, beet salad, etc

My experience at Ala Restaurant was delightful. The ambiance was inviting with its warm decor and comfortable seating arrangements. The service was impeccable. All the appetizers were excellent. For the main course, we ordered Adana Kebab, Tavuk Shish, and Levrek fish, and everything was delicious. The nutmeg spice on the chicken was a bit overpowering for my taste, but I still enjoyed it. Overall, Ala Restaurant exceeded my expectations with its delicious cuisine, welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional service.

Quick summary and recap: The good: - Service. Very friendly, knowledgeable and hospitable. - Atmosphere. Tastefully decorated, so much to look at and appreciate on the walls. - Cold Mezze - All the spreads were fantastic, highly recommend the sampler. - Halloumi. Love the sweet and salty combo for this dish. -Roasted Chicken. Loved the zhoug on the chicken! -Drinks. Highly recommend the Levant cocktail. Needs improvement: - Short Ribs. The short rib itself was great, succulent and flavorful. The eggplant underneath was had a very overpowering smoke flavor. - Golden Cauliflower. Interesting concept, but too much sauce hid the flavor of the cauliflower. Also the cauliflower was a little undercooked. Overall I will be coming back and hoping to try more things on the menu! Kid-friendliness: High chairs and booster seats.
