I think they're having a rough opening. Went at 12:23pm on their 2nd day of opening and they had no brisket. Got the beef taco and the grilled pork taco instead. They were okay, nothing special. They probably should of done some more soft-opening. The biggest complaint was in actually getting my food. The lady whose job it seems is to check orders, bag them, and hand them out to take-out guests didn't seem to think I wanted my food. She made it a point to tell the two ladies, strangers, sitting next to me that they messed up one of their orders. She had MY order in her hand after she had packed and checked it, then waited for the two ladies orders to be complete. She never bothered to acknowledge me as a human, walks away with my food places it on the to go counter. She made some comment to the bartender, about not knowing whose food it is which prompted the bartender to ask me if it was my food... Growing pains, I guess... My sister and I visited the Bethesda location on the second day of their opening. We were pleasantly surprised by the experience. The staff was lovely and very welcoming. The food was honestly delicious! If you love Mexican food, its a must-try. We each got 3 tacos and you can order a la carte which makes it easy to try multiple things in the menu. I highly highly recommend the fried avocado taco, soo good! And please ask for the habanero hot sauce, it adds a lot to the flavor. Also, if you get the burnt ends taco, which was also great, try it with the Mexican bbq sauce it definitely levels up the taco. We were actually so impressed with the Mexican bbq sauce that we asked to purchase a bottle of it! Overall, a great experience and Im sure theyll only get better with time. We've been to a lot of Mexicues, from the OG food truck to this location and let me just tell you, this is by far their best spot yet. The staff are all incredibly kind and detail oriented. They made sure our waters were always filled, our chips bowl was never empty, and everything was to our satisfaction. We got the dip foursome, two drinks, 3 tacos, and a bowl. If you haven't had their burnt ends brisket, run, don't walk to get your hands on theirs. It's the perfect combination of smokey, spicy, charred, and sweet. Honestly I've already planned my next trip back out there because dinner was just that good. I understand that things can be quite hectic when restaurants have their grand opening. I went to the restaurant on yesterday evening during their grand opening. The waitress was nice and kind, some of the workers appeared to be young and you could tell it was their first job. All of these observations are very understandable. However, compared to the DC location this place seems hectic and the food was very very salty. We got the plant nachos (what we usually get at DC location) and the items tasted totally different. I am sure this place has the potential and probably just had a rough start. I believe with time things will get better.
