got my taxes done here last week, and was charged an exorbitant amount! First, it was hard to get an estimate ahead of time about how much I might be charged. There base price is $159. They say they charge for extra forms, but they don't advertise how much. I did have some extra forms, but many of them just required 1-3 numbers to be added to the 1040 and added to other numbers. He asked me for over $600 for my taxes! When I showed exasperation, he immediately gave me a 30% discount but I still paid $470 dollars which should have been no more than $300. I get a big refund and I honestly fell that's why he charged me so much, thinking he's entitled to a portion of my refund.
Second, while I was sitting across from him he was asked me to sign my tax return several times. Well what he did was had me sign forms that allows Jackson Hewitt to spam me! He did not tell me this while I was saying.
My advice, don't go here! If you do, get a firm amount he will charge ahead of time. Second, when he asks you to sign make sure you know what you're signing! I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.
