I always considered Seasoned Mariner to be a nice restaurant with good food, with the only drawback being that the outside needed some work. Since the new owners have taken over they are fixing up the outside, which is great. Unfortunately, the food has gone way downhill. My husband and I went there not long after they re-opened, and were very disappointed. He ordered an empanada appetizer, which was pictured on the menu as four for $7 This was very deceiving, as when it came out there was only one. 7$ for one empanada is very pricy, especially since it was very small. I ordered the stuffed shrimp entree. The shrimp were some of the tiniest stuffed shrimp I have ever seen, and the crab meat had a lot of breading mixed in. I heard some customers a few tables over saying the same thing about the crab cakes they had ordered. The waitress was attempting to explain that crabs were not very plentiful, and this was the reason why there was so much filler. That's not a good reason to skimp on the quantity or quality of the food. As if those things weren't bad enough, the prices have been hiked up considerably. If the food quality was in line with the prices, it wouldn't be so bad, but it's just the opposite. I don't expect this place to stay in business very long unless some changes are made. I think it has the potential to be a great place to go, especially in the summertime. Dundalk needs more water front bars with outdoor seating but unless I go just for drinks, I probably won't be returning. Ok so I did return to this place to give it a second chance, but mainly because a band was playing who we wanted to see. I have to say it wasn't any better. While we didn't order any food, it was lacking in service and drinks. How in the world do you run out of Coors Light on a weekend??? I also heard the staff tell other people that they were out of other things on the menu as well. Our waitress came over at one point to take our order, my husband ordered a beer and I ordered a Mojito. Our waitress did not return for roughly a half hour. When she did, she then asked for the second time what we wanted. I told her we were still waiting for our drinks. She said "We don't have any fresh mint for the mojito." Okaaayyyy, so she didn't feel it necessary to come over right away and tell us this?? And what about my husband's beer?? The place is still lacking. They could also have music outside in the summer, but they don't seem to do this on a regular basis. it's a shame because there aren't a lot of outdoor bars in Dundalk with good atmosphere, and meanwhile there's is just going to waste
