Beautiful church with a rich history and a diverse congregation of lovely people. I am proud to have such a wonderful church in my neighborhood. I appreciate the support they provide to the community. However when you give free food and/ or services to the public try to wholeheartedly give your best. For the Bible says; Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! Proverbs 19:17 (NIV) - Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done. I feel like Im treated indifferently when I refuse the unhealthy food items being rationed although I understand that these items could brighten another persons day. The volunteers are very territorial and judgmental. I imagine that theyre saving the best for themselves. They will look you in the face and hand you decaying vegetables with a smile. I say this with love and respect. People shouldnt be treated like trash and made to stand outside in the rain for a bag of random groceries. Its hard for folks and we dont want to seem ungrateful for the help but its also painful to have to throw away food that was rotten when it was given to us. I know that it is not easy. I wish nothing but the best for all who are involved in this program and I pray that they will continue but consider the importance of giving with their heart. Perhaps offer canning and pickling workshops that show people how to preserve food. Knowledge is power.
