I went to the Choice Pain on Reisterstown Road. I had only one bad experience with this site. The doctor I saw was belligerent and condescending. I voice my displeasure with him and instructed the staff to not schedule me with that particular physician. after that interaction they matched me with a much better caregiver. They worked well with us when we moved out of state to North Carolina and had to come back to Baltimore to be seen by Doctor McCutchens. They were very accommodating because we were coming so far to be seen. I would like to say thank you all for making a difficult situation much more tolerable.

I had an incredibly disappointing and unprofessional experience during my visit at CHOICE Pain & Rehabilitation Center on Reisterstown Rd. in Baltimore MD, with the CRNP, Murray Obanye. I arrived with high hopes, carrying over 150 pages of extensive medical records, including diagnostic tests, previous doctor diagnoses, MRI's, CT scans, ultrasounds, X-rays, medication histories, and more. To begin with, this doctor failed to show any genuine concern or professionalism. He didn't even bother to take a cursory glance at the extensive medical documentation I had brought with me (which I had to PAY to get from all of my previous doctors & specialist). Instead, he immediately judged me based on my appearance (I have tattoos) and age, and proceeded to dismiss me and my condition, which is anything but trivial, and suggested that I seek another doctor who might be "more willing to prescribe pain management medication." To make matters worse, he didn't take my situation seriously at all and cut me off mid- explanation to then suggested that "I get an inhaler for my chest pain from my primary care physician instead of seeking pain management". Had he taken the time to review ANY of my medical records, he would have realized the severity of my condition. My records clearly show the presence of masses and tumors in my chest, which should not be addressed with a mere inhaler. Furthermore, the doctor's lack of assessment of the portion of my records that showed my medication history, was completely off base. I was not seeking medication as a first resort; in fact, I had previously explored nonconventional treatments under the guidance of my previous pain management specialist while living in CA. My move to a new area prompted my search for a new doctor, NOT an eagerness for prescription drugs.... Perhaps the most disheartening part of the appointment was when the Dr. openly LAUGHED at me and at my situation. This unprofessional behavior was not only hurtful but also extremely unbecoming of someone who calls themselves a "medical professional". While I was in the middle of trying to explain to him of my condition to the best of my ability, the doctor walked out of the room, and returned about 10 minutes later and handed me a printout of another pain management specialist and casually suggested that I might have better luck getting prescribed something there. This complete lack of empathy, understanding, and professionalism was disheartening and disappointing. Medical conditions can affect anyone, regardless of age, appearance, race, or sexual orientation. Patients should not face preconceived biases. This experience highlights the importance of consistent professionalism and ethics in healthcare, treating all patients with respect regardless of their appearance. Not to mention, I was charged $170.00 for my initial appointment regardless of the fact that they conducted ZERO test and the doctor gave me MAYBE 2 minutes of his time, after I waited for over an hour to be seen by the CRNP, Murray Obanye. I STRONGLY advise for ANYONE who's seeking genuine medical care to really think twice before considering this doctor, and I'd recommend avoiding CHOICE Pain & Rehabilitation Center's together as a whole. My experience was nothing short of a nightmare, and I hope that my review helps others avoid the same ordeal. I am now being seen and treated by Greater Maryland Pain Management and have not a single bad thing to say about them. I'd start there and avoid this mess of situation you'll most likely end up in if seen by Murray Obanye.

Lovely front desk and staff, however, the CRNP, Murray Obanye, treated me like I was a drug seeker! Because he cannot see my pain on my scans, he basically told me I don't have pain. If you're a patient with Ulcerative Colitis or Crohns disease, or any invisible illness, DO NOT GO! This man laughed at me and told me I just have opioid dependency! I've been a chronic pain patient for 5 yrs (so obviously, my body is dependent on the medicine) After being bed ridden for 6 months and almost losing my job, I agreed to go to pain management and pain meds gave me my life back! I went from 0 quality of life, to being, gratefully, able to go back to work and care for my family. How hurtful for a doctor to tell you nothing is wrong with you, and basically, in other words, call me a liar! I wish I could switch bodies with some of these Dr's who took an oath to treat patients with chronic pain.
