Not usually a fan of this place but, this time? I was very excited to find the beauty expert who understood my needs and age! Cannot for the life of me remember her name but she had a GREAT sense of humor and I remember her name ended in two 'T's'. Went in for a $10.99 lipstick - $160 later, had a new great foundation, brush, and blush! Thanks.

I usually have positive experiences at this Ulta, but I'm giving four stars due to my most recent experience. A lot of makeup stores have this issue, but it doesn't mean it's okay. I asked for an employee's opinion on a high-end concealer since the one I was looking for was out of stock. I told her I wasn't a far of Nars but she pushed me towards it anyway. I'm black, and on the lighter side. She pulled out the darkest shade of concealer and tried to match me....Then only went two shades lighter, which were still darker than my skin tone, and was going back and forth with me about it. Like it's embarrassing that those who work here still struggle so often to shade match Black people. Anyways, I ended up just matching myself.

I was there for a root touch up and highlights and cut with associate and although she was an experienced stylist she improvised on color and gave me a quick dry cut with hair in clips before coloring and did not use the right color Disappointed and not worth the price I was charged .

Edited to add: I called customer service several times, was told I would receive a response within 24-48 hours and never did. Never received a response from my follow up calls either. Happy to shop at Sephora now :) The manager Jessica is a really bad liar. I forgot my wallet and told the girl at the register (very nice) I would be back to pay for my one item (it was close to closing time). I was parking my car a minute before they closed and watched them lock the door. I knocked on the door to ask if I could pay for my one item since I drove home to get my wallet. My phone said it was 9:00 on the dot when I was speaking with the associate. She went to ask the manager, who said no. I asked to speak with her. A minute later the manager, Jessica, comes to the door and I explain what happened. She says oh Im sorry our registers stop working at 9:00. Ummm no they dont, thats a lie. Youre telling me if people are still in your store shopping at 9:00 with a basket full of stuff, you kick them out and say sorry our registers dont work! She said well its fine if were in the middle of a transaction but otherwise they dont work after 9:00. Lie again. I worked in retail for 10+ years, that aint how technology works, honey. I called her out on her lie again and she said well, I cant let you in the store after were closed. Maybe start with that instead of trying to come up with a really bad lie that makes no sense. If you cant spend an extra 30 seconds ringing up one product (paying with a credit card) then youre just pretty awful at customer service and your job. And if you dont feel like going the extra mile or inch for your customers, maybe dont be in management.
