I had an open retirement account while employed by a common company and when I left employment with said company I tried to close my account. They made it out to seem like it was so simple but after I navigated the website by myself and finally figuring it out; I thought I was good and bam in the morning I have to get consent from my husband to close my own account.. I thought we were moving ahead in the future my husband has nothing to do with the money I worked and earned and would like to have access too but Lincoln is holding it and asking for a consent that is notarized.. then I have to snail mail it to you. Absolutely absurd. Would not recommend I will decline to have them in the future will not do business with out dated policies and needing consent from my husband to close my account.
