        Maineway Landscaping & Excavation in Saco ME made a HUGE mistake when installing our septic tank. Our tank was installed BACKWARDS.. the inlet from the house was lower than the outlet pipe to the pump.. filling our house with sewer gas on the occasion the water was above the inlet hole. They took a job they probably should not have taken which ultimately ended in a missed inspection and the City taking responsibility for fixing the issue. When requesting to speak to the owner he had his office manager call me back and instead of owning the mistake they blamed the designer, the city, and me for not having an inspection done before buying our home. They've avoided contact with me in regards to the service they provided. A company should take ownership and accountability for their errors. Even though the city made it right they should have taken accountability for something as serious as installing a septic tank backwards and not kicking the can down the road. The owner should have the gumption to speak to clients who they've wronged instead of having his office manager and wife blame everyone else in a snarky and condescending tone. I wouldn't hire them for any work if they can't stand behind their services.

      This review is very unfair. We installed this system almost 5 years ago. You are the 3rd owner of this property since the work has been completed. We were very willing to help, we just asked you to investigate with the City further. No one has any idea what has been done with the property since we left in March 2017. My husband doesn't sit in the office, he works in the field. I returned your call within 5 minutes of your teary voicemail. I spoke with him and called you right back again. That was the last we heard from you.We have installed many tanks and leech fields over the 27 years we have been in business, with not one issue.We wish you the very best in your new home.
