Bayside American Cafe

Bayside American cafe is my favorite spot for brunch in Portland! The food is to die for, I love the scrambled eggs loaded with veggies and the hash browns. Everything is fresh and they are happy to accommodate food allergies. The staff has always been friendly, despite how busy it can get! I recommend going on a week day if you can, its a small place and gets packed quick.

Ive been coming to bayside for almost a decade now as my go to brunch spot. I have ALWAYS had the best time. Ive been serving and working in the service industry for over 6 years and I havent ever been so disregarded or avoided. We ordered and then our server never checked in on us. I know how ridiculous it can sound writing this reviews, but to not be spoken to after ordering EVEN WHEN YOU GET OUR CARDS and then to run them and when I ask for the box that was forgotten (no biggie, I forget boxes all the time) you turn around and mumble over your shoulder thanks after WE say thank you TO YOU. Such an after thought and inconsiderate. I watched our server check in on other tables, step outside, and there were MULTIPLE open tables so even when I suggested she was busy it was evident she was not. Beyond disappointed and will not be coming back. (Also, I NEVER tip less than 20% and have never done that in my entire life and still feel guilty, but even the 11% tip feels like too much now)

I was just actively discouraged by the waiter from eating here. Made it clear my business wasn't needed nor wanted
