A wonderful, centrally-located place to stay in Portland. Clean, comfortable, and quiet. We'd stay again and recommend to friends! Rooms: Spacious and clean. Nearby activities: Lots of restaurants and things to do close to the urban home. Safety: Safe during the days and nights. Walkability: Walk to so many major attractions in Portland. Food & drinks: Great food and drinks within a few blocks and beyond.

Not a hotel, not an Airbnb, The Docent takes the perks of both to create the most exceptional stay. Everything about the experience was innovative, while still intuitive. Mostly run though text, yet highly personal. Staying at The Docent was a highlight of our vacation. Location, aesthetic and ease of communicate was nothing like I've experienced. They've thought of every detail (pack and play, cleaning supplies, FRENCH PRESS, complementary late check out) so we never were without. I'm never a reviewer, but this experience needed to be recognized as 10/10.

Great Christmas vacation stay here! We were impressed with how clean it was and the quality of fixtures and supplies. We cooked Christmas dinner there and had all the supplies needed. Communication was amazing - Avery the property manager was very quick to reply! Also the housekeeping staff were friendly and very helpful whenever we requested supplies. Street parking was easy too with a quick walk to Starbucks and restaurants. Will stay again!

My wife and I visited Portland, ME with our daughter for her first birthday! I found the Docent Collection because we wanted a hybrid like a hotel and Airbnb combined. The Docent Collection was the perfect combo! Everything is set up before you arrive and they give you an access key through a phone app (nice to not constantly keep track of a card). When we got to our room we noticed something was wrong. I booked a one bedroom king and one-bath studio but this place had two bedrooms a huge kitchen and 1.5 baths. I texted the number who had been keeping us up to date until arriving to mention there must be a mistake and was quickly replied with "We upgraded your room!" My wife and I were through the roof, it was our daughter's 1st birthday and this beautiful location upgraded us to a huge place. We have never had this happen and it was really kind of them to do that whether the building was full or not. I know the price tag for this place was almost double what I paid as well. Anyway, it's located in a great location with everything within walking distance. The lady I spoke with on the phone was so nice and we got to meet Avery before we left. Not much but positives to write about like the rest but thought we should share our story. -Thank you!
