Doug Brown Plumbing & Heating

Still away from Douglas Brown. I trusted him, through a referral, to be a fair and trusted professional. His bill rate is $130 per hour. Way more than reasonable. His contracts are payments due are term net 15 days, with penalties incurred after. This being while a "stay at home" is in place, and I'm unable to return to the residence. Be smarter than I, LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Might be a good plumber, I don't know. But a poor businessman. Said he would get back to me in two weeks, never did and failed to return 3 calls over the next month.

Doug is a dependable, trustworthy, efficient plumbing expert. We have a seasonal home in the area and Doug coordinated what we thought would be a difficult process on two bathroom renovations and kitchen project. He understood our limitations in regards to being available in the area, yet was able to complete the projects exceeding our expectations. He worked around our schedule without limiting our ability to utilize our summer home. We highly recommend Doug for all your home plumbing needs!

If there were an option for zero stars that is what I would choose. We had the most horrendous experience with both Doug Brown and his wife Leslie. We hired them to install a hot water heater and washer and dryer in our cottage. Doug Brown came to the site and met with me and looked at the project. He quoted $2400 for the work. The only change to the original scope of the project was to hook up our refrigerator ice maker. We received a bill for almost $4000 with no warning that the costs were more than anticipated. In addition, we received the bill before the job was done, and then were threatened with a lien being put on our home when the bill wasn't paid in 14 days (when the job still wasn't done), even though the bill said due in 15 days. Both Doug Brown and his wife yelled and threatened us when we contacted them through their office voicemail when trying to ascertain the status of our project (our full time home is out of state). They were on a three week vacation while the work was being completed by one of their employees, but they had provided us with no other contact information, and did not inform us of their return date. I cannot state enough how horrible this experience was and how unprofessional both Doug and Leslie Brown are.
