We booked a trip with John on our trip to Bar Harbor, ME. It was a fantastic trip, and the river was beautiful. John was a great guide, and constantly put us on fish. We caught well over 30 smallmouth in the span of 3 1/2 hours. A truly unforgettable experience. Super happy I booked this instead of an overcrowded deep sea charter. John knows the river like the back of his hand, and whenever I come back to Maine, Ill be giving him a call.

We fished with John and could have not been more satisfied. We booked an all day trip but had to cut it to half a day due to the rain. The river was really high due to the heavy rains in the region but we caught smallmouth bass nearly non stop during the trip. The boat was clean and well maintained, John shared a lot of knowledge throughout the trip. The Italian sandwiches he provided were delicious. I look highly recommend John and will use him again when we return to Maine.

John has what amounts to a 6th sense for finding fish. With unexpected high water there seemed a possibility of a slow day.....nothing could further from the truth! Between myself and my friend Dave we landed over 30 fish. A couple of them were definitely photo-worthy. John was easy going, knowledgeable, and his boat set-up and navigational skills allowed us to make perfect casts almost every time. I am already looking forward to hitting the Penobscot again next year. Scott Bond
