The shrimp platter is top notch!! Crawfish queso was good! The weather was perfect for sitting out on the patio!! Very friendly and attentive staff!

We were passing through Monroe for one night. Stopped for dinner at Trapps. My wife went to school in Monroe and lived in MS so she chose Trapps. I had no idea but trust her choice since she's more familiar than me. I had red beans and rice w/ side of vegetables. It was flavorful and comforting. Wife had the fried Catfish. She had been craving it and missed the chance while in MS a day or so previous. It passed her test and she is from Vicksburg where catfish is a local dish. I am told my dish is rare in North LA so i am happy to get a taste of LA food at all, but to know it had a southern LA style is special for me since we were headed West and not down to Baton Rouge / New Orleans. I'm happy to see mom and pop local places like this. Food was excellent and service the same. Located on the Ouachita river so I enjoyed the view. I don't drink but they have a bar area and patio. Wish i took photos ! If we happen to come back through area, we would stop again. Parking: a big gravel lot directly across gtom the door.
