Great day with Joey and crew. Caught fish and had a blast. On point and fished hard to help us load up the box. Five stars for sure.

2 great days of fishing for tuna and Wahoo. My husband and I both caught nice fish and enjoyed visiting with Joey. He worked hard for us and obviously knows his stuff! He had big bag chairs for seating, a first for us, but SOOO much more comfortable than the benches we were accustomed to for bumpy water! Already planning for next year!

I really contemplated leaving a review, but I feel that I could possibly help someone from running into what we ran into. I booked this trip with a group of guys months back. Catching a yellowfin in Venice was on all of our bucket list. The captain picked us up and the minute we stepped on the boat I could tell that the Captain was not feeling it. We went out and road around for a while looking for fish but the fog made it hard to see. We finally found bait and a few fish, a few other boats around were hooked up. We caught a couple sharks and the captain suggested we leave the area for a chance at finding smaller, but more fish. Needless to say we never put a fish in the box. I know that fishing is never guaranteed but there was a lot more that made the trip a total let down for our whole group. The first mate was very green and did not know his way around a charter boat. We trolled for a while and the diving plugs were skipping across the top of the water and the capt and mate just sat in the seat kicked back and never fixed the plugs. We were also told not to sit in the front seat, and also got asked not to hold on to the handrails attached to the boats T-top, if the Capt had it his way I think he would have just wanted us to sit on the bean bags on the back of the boat all day. I hate to make assumptions, but we all got the impression that the captain may have stayed out a little too late the night before. We will definitely be back to Venice, but I would not recommend this charter, there are a lot more comfortable boats in the area, that seemed to also have a better atmosphere. Definitely a bummer for our whole group, we are all avid fisherman and we all walked away from the marina with a very sour taste in our mouth.

Had a great couple of days with Captain Joey. We were new to tuna fishing and he was patient and worked hard at getting us newbies on fish! We were able to ship home a couple hundred pounds of fish. His knowledge of the rigs and LNG industry is also extensive!
