Great stop we happened upon while waiting for JamNOLA. Great opportunity to have a moment of reverence and gravitas for the history of NOLA. Wonderful murals nearby.

The Plessy verses Ferguson historical marker is a nice double sided plaque which explains much of the story of the event that took place nearby. The area also had several murals depicting this and ramifications from the event. The Plessy decision was a very early victory in the fight against racial segregation. It has helped lead to much broader reforms and is nicely remembered here.

A necessary stop in New Orleans. On the right day, walking the tracks alone conjures the sparks of historys burns, and the rage and tragedy and redemption under foot. Beautiful murals and graffiti bring uneasy beauty to the haunted tracks. One strains to see the way back, and the way onward.

Came for a quiet moment of reflection on Juneteenth 2022 for a huge moment to help change the tides.

This is a place for reflection as someone else said, and having the knowledge of what happened here prior to your visit would definitely help you with the reflection. I visited Studio BE which set the right tone for me and appreciated this sight even more. There is a mural right by it which portrays the brown vs the board, not to be missed.
