      image I picked up an ornament to look at, not knowing another ones string was knotted up with it. The knotted ornament fell on the floor and broke. I took it up to the counter to apologize and say what happened. The cashier had none of that and told me I had to pay for half of it. I gave her the $5 because she clearly needed it more than I did - while telling her I was still planning to buy several ornaments there (its why I like to buy for myself and friends when I travel). I just walked out with nothing afterwards, not even the broken ornament. Jokes on her - the store lost out on a $50 sale over a $5 accident.
      If this is the policy youre going to have, signage would be helpful. You might want to make sure you keep everything protected in glass cases.
