image I'm only giving it two stars because of my okay experience at this school. I started this school my sophomore year. For some reason, I was placed in regular classes which I wasn't used to because I was an honors student my whole life. I think my class placement was because I was a transfer. Luckily my counselor fixed my classes immediately and placed me into honors classes. I was very surprised at how advanced the honors classes were because honors classes at my old school were not advanced. I became an IB diploma candidate my junior year. I had some really good teachers who helped me with the advanced classes I was taking. I enjoyed my first two years at ehret, even though I had some bad days, but it was a good two years. But we changed principals during senior year and Ehret just went downhill. He cared more about building pointless gates and hiring people who were just downright rude to the students. These people cared more about hoodies than addressing the issues of drugs, bullying, and the constant skippers. I mention the people who skipped everyday because he made this fuss about taking care of the "Ehret's known wanderers" but it was all BS since I would see the same people skipping everyday. It was very apparent that they didn't care about the student's well- being since a. they cut lunch down to 40 minutes rather than 50 or an hour like we had when they know how long it takes for over a thousand kids to get their lunch b. you basically were on a bathroom schedule which is ridiculous because who schedules bathroom times? It can't be for "safety reasons" especially since the bathrooms sometimes wouldn't have soap and/or toilet paper in the bathroom. I am fortunate to have had some teachers who cared about my success and for having an excellent counselor but other than that, this school isn't the best. IB classes are the best way to go but not everyone is lucky and some teachers made sure that they knew it was not for everyone, which is degrading since they are basically saying "We don't believe you can succeed." Plus this school has more than two thousand people, so I advise that parents reconsider sending their children here. If you have no other option, then you have no other option, but if you do, send your kids somewhere else.
