Guesthouse on Girod

Located in Old Mandeville, just a block away from the beautiful lakefront of Lake Pontchartrain, is this gorgeous guesthouse. Its location is conveniently placed so that multiple shops and restaurants are in walking or biking distance. Its surroundings have a quiet small town charm straight out of a movie. The room was very clean, well-decorated, cozy, and comfortable. The self check in was simple and easy. I most definitely recommend Guesthouse of Girod, and I hope to stay there again myself in the future. Rooms: The Pearl room was well decorated in a light and airy style, the room was very clean and organized, it provided useful things such as a hair dryer, hand steamer, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, A/C unit, and alarm clock. The linens were very comfortable and high quality. Nearby activities: The location of this guesthouse is a less than a five minute walk to the lakefront of Lake Pontchartrain. There are many shops in the area for gifts, antiques, clothes, bikes, and even an old fashioned candy shop. It is also just a short drive away from Fontainebleau State Park. Safety: I felt very safe for the duration of my stay at Guesthouse on Girod. They provided sturdy locks on their doors and privacy blinds and curtains in the rooms. The locals in the area and very friendly and polite from what I observed. Food & drinks: The location of Guesthouse on Girod makes it easy to access local restaurants, cafe's, and bars. Multiple of them are in a short walking distance. Directly across the street from the guesthouse is a quaint cafe, La Lou, that you walk to in less than 2 minutes for breakfast or lunch. Less than a five minute walk down the street is McClain's Pizzeria and Donz on the Lake, both with beautiful views of the lakefront.

Wonderful suites attached to their home. Lovely decor and a very comfortable bed. Short walk to the water, restaurants, brewery and the Tammany Trace Trail. Thanks Michael and Rikki for your help with my passport.

Stayed here 6/30-7/2 2023 in #1 Everything was just perfect! Superior Ambiance and location! Room was so clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Property well maintained. Walking distance to lake and many wonderful shops and restaurants in Mandeville. Our friends booked next door to us so the private courtyard we shared was a plus and very enjoyable in the evenings.
