TownePlace Suites by Marriott Lafayette South

My wife and I stayed here one night for a nearby wedding. The room is spacious and well laid out. We got an early check-in of 1:15 pm and found that the air conditioner was not blowing cold air. The temperature outside was in the mid seventies and the temperature inside was the same only stale instead of fresh. I notified the woman at the front desk and she came to our room and confirmed the air conditioner needed tending to. She said a service man would fix the problem before we got back from the wedding around 10pm. When we got back to the hotel the air conditioner was not working and the service man had not come. We asked for a fan or different room, but only received apologies. We stayed at Best Western in Lafayette the night before and the pool, rooms, service and breakfast were much better. The price at Best Western was much better as well.

Had a reservation for a pet friendly room last night and tonight,that was made the day before me and my wife drove down, explained I would not be in till 2am. Got a confirmation # and Debbie told me after I ask her about 3 times to make sure she understood when we would be there. She said she would put a note on us. Short story is when we got there Daysha tells me we have no room and there booked. She tells me she has no idea why Debbie told me this. I will not use Marriott hotels again and I will highly recommend my company not to use them anymore. We drove around 600 mile to be told we have no room. Sat in parking lot and call every hotel around to find they were all booked. Poor business is all I can say. We had to cancel our meetings and business we had in town

Value for money. Location is good. Rooms were excellent. Staff was good and courteous. Breakfast a big letdown. Not much options, food tasted cold as if it was served straight out from the freezer. I have stayed at other Towneplace locations but never had such terrible breakfast.

DO NOT STAY HERE.I stayed here because of my job. I have stayed in a thousand other hotel rooms that beat this place hands down. While staying my work truck was robbed for over 10,000 in tools. The next morning upon realizing my things stolen off of my truck and in the midst of calling 911an employee came up asking about what was going on. I told her and mentioned other people from my company staying there and having there vehicles broken into, that I thought it may be an inside job. At that point she became extremely upset and started cussing me. I spoke to the police and then with the assistant manager about the employee. Long story short she is no longer employed there. The bad thing is I am out 10 grand with no help from staff. There are no cameras watching the parking lot. Only one that sees who comes in the front door. The next day however I received a knock at my door only to be told my room smelled like smoke that I would be charged 250 dollars and that I had an hour to leave the premises. I told the manager she was more than welcome to come in the room and look for evidence that I had been smoking. She said no and that she was calling the police. I'm not sure if I have a lawsuit but I will sure be filing a law suit.
