It was longer than desired to get the new patient appointment. However, once my 94 year old Dad was in and evaluated by Dr. Kellum (and his knowledgeable professional staff), it was apparent that Southern Eye Institute was/is the right place for his eye care! Sadly, by the time I became Dads care giver, he had been seeing another ophthalmologist in Houmafor years! That ophthalmologist did not screen Dad for glaucoma or if he did, never attempted treatment. Thusly, by time I brought my father to Dr Kellum, Dads glaucoma was in the sever advanced stage. Now, Kellum is working diligently to maintain what little sight my he has left. As anyone who is/has the responsibility of caring for an elderly loved one, finding healthcare providers that take personal agency in the care and treatment of said loved one, is TRUELY like finding angels-partners. Dr Kellum and his compassionate team, are my angel-partners. They are assisting my Dad in maintaining what sight he has left. He is a local historian, veteran, retired pilot and veracious reader, with an unquenchable hunger for knowledge. His ability to read is paramount to sustaining his quality of life. YES! We/I would highly recommend Dr Kellum and his compassionate team of eye care professionals at Southern Eye Institute of Houma to anyone seeking eye care in the Houma area!

Excellent care! From the time you walk in the door to you walk out you are treated in a professional and caring way! A very friendly office! Dr K Kellum is an expert in a variety of issues! He also will go to the extreme with hard cases! Ive been a patient since 2008!

Recently, after a severe eye problem, Dr. Kellum diagnosed me with an ulcer on my retina. He was not optimistic that he would have any success for several months. He aggressively treated my condition and within TWO MONTHS my eyes were healed and my eyesight is almost back to normal. Dr. Kellum saved my eyesight. He is not a 10....He is off the chart.
