The Avery

If I could give my experience no stars I would. I went to the website and sent an email regarding availability. I soon received an email stating there was units coming available & I was given a date and time to tour the property. However, the day I arrived no one answered the office door. I waited almost 2 1/2 hrs to be seen. I called the number that had text me that morning to see if I was still interested. I eventually left with NO response from anyone. If this is how they operate then it was a blessing in disguise! Please be careful when communicating with the Avery. I wasted my time and fuel to with not even a call back or anything to provide an explanation. Off to a better place!

I had the pleasure of staying at The Avery for a few weeks; I can say that in the past it may have been bad, but it is no longer that way. Maintenance is by far one of the best in the few places I've stayed in the past two years, as I travel for work; Ron was quick to fix an issue I reported and management is friendly, knowledgeable about his property, and very helpful. I was able to see numerous units they had available and they by far have choices for everyone's needs, style, and family size; plus you can't beat the deals they offer every month, there is always a new special. The pools were very clean; though not refreshing due to the Louisiana heat. I am a night owl and stayed by a pool during my visit and it was quiet; during my morning walks, I didn't see many kids out without their parents. Anytime I seen a kid, the parent was with them; even while waiting on the school bus. Pros: maintenance, clean-remodeled units, great landscape, laundry on site, two- luxurious salt water pools; so no chlorine stink, the office was open Monday thru Friday 8a.m. until 5 p.m. with numerous friendly staff to help with all my needs. Cons: Louisiana heated pool in summer when you want to refresh. Not enough dumpsters for all needs or tenants. Dogs without leashes, and pets you don't want in townhouse living waking you up. I would recommend The Avery for their amenities, specials, pricing, and location.

That place is such a joke !! DON'T BRING YOUR KIDS HERE. It's dirty, unsafe and no one runs the place!!

We have been living at the Avery (formerly the Westwood Place) for about 2 years & we absolutely love it here. Because its a townhouse we never have to worry about hearing neighbors above us & the community is fairly quiet. The apartments are quite spacious. We feel safe & love our little community. The manager Ashley is absolutely AMAZING! She goes above & beyond for us & really tries her best to address our concerns in a timely manner. Shes always looking for ways to make our living experience better; we love that our feedback matters & has impact here. Maintenance is very friendly & requests are handled in a timely manner. Usually our request are handled within one business day unless its an emergency and then its handled within a few hours or sooner. Our only big con is we wish there were washers & dryers in the unit.
