I stayed at the St. Agnes Women and Children Shelter from March 22nd to 25th. While acknowledging the shelter's services, I have concerns about conditions and practices that may hinder residents' progress: Living Conditions: Overly warm sleeping areas, compounded by restrictions on bed coverings, create unnecessary discomfort. Disregarding residents' needs and well-being can be counterproductive to their goals. Resident Privacy: Staff searching through belongings in a resident's absence is an unacceptable violation of personal space and privacy. This can erode trust and create an uncomfortable atmosphere. Opportunities for Empowerment: Instead of threats and criticism, the shelter could offer life skills workshops or support groups to foster independence and confidence among residents. Compassionate and Individualized Support: Blanket punishments due to a single person's actions seem unjust. More tailored approaches would be more likely to address specific challenges. Laundry Access: The lack of access to laundry facilities adds an extra burden for residents already facing difficulties. Providing these resources would offer both practicality and dignity. I left the shelter early due to these concerns and worry about the well-being of the remaining residents. I urge the shelter's management to consider these issues and focus on solutions that truly support the women and children they serve.

There is a lot of stealing there the sisters give your personal belongings that you work hard for and they don think it's stealing but it is. They don't stop trouble before it starts they pried my father's ashes out of my hand and buired the when I didn't want it to happen and then they put my daughter and I out after I told them my things were stolen buy another person who was there and then they didn't want to tell me where they were they they let the other woman and her child back in and they think it's right this place needs to be closed down they are really bad people they treated me and my child so bad I lost so much weight there and I showed them my doctor's papers my child is sick and they threw us away like garbage this not a holy place and I wish I could report them because of them I have no food stamps and sleep in my car I really have no love for these people all they care about is donations. Shame on you supposed to be children of God. Sister superior is the worst of them all
