Have always loved this place. Summer has been hectic for us and keeping us out of town. We finally went tonight for the first time this year. We were shocked and disappointed by the texture of the snowballs. The ice was chunky and crunchy. Not at all the way a Louisiana snowball is supposed to be. I grew up in New Orleans and know the difference between how theyre supposed to be (and how they were in past years here) and how they were tonight. I might as well have been in Texas buying them. Maybe they got a new machine. Maybe the staff is not trained on how the machine should be set. I dont know what caused the issue. I just know we did not enjoy crunching on the ice. My husband did not even finish his. We probably will try again in a week or so. If theyre the same as tonight we will not be returning and after several years of going here will be looking for another place to get our snowball fix.
