Hello, on 02/18/2024 I went to eat and ordered a pozole and my son a horchata water and when I had just started I saw that my son's glass had something inside when I looked at it it was a cockroach and I said to the girl and look the ceiling as if it had fallen from the ceiling, I told him, look, it's stuck, it's not stuck to the ceiling... he just tells me that they fumigated, maybe that's why... unpleasant experience

I grew up in southeastern New Mexico. I dont go to Mexican food places outside of NM, mostly because it is more Mexicali or Texmex. My friends mothers growing up spoiled me on Mexican food. Since moving to Baton Rouge, I have not had good Mexican food. However, Taqueria Valdez is the exception to the rule. I had the enchiladas, my wife had the flautas, and we shared a couple of tamales. I do not eat restaurant tamales as a rule, but I was craving it. The pork Tamale tastes like something made in Tia Juanas house. They are fantastic and HUGE! The enchiladas were really good and the refried beans were like home. The salsa has just enough bite. My wife says the flautas were exceptional as well. This is an oasis of traditional Mexican flavor!! Gracias por el almuerzo, fue fantstico!
