Brought in set of heads for inspection. After 3 weeks of no correspondence, I called to check on inspection. Was told by owner he just looked at them today. Very convenient. Was charged $100 for my heads to sit on his shop floor.. do not deal with these people. And I was dealing with owner paul.

I highly recommend this machine shop for their personal service. I have had this shop do everything from big jobs to small ones and I've never been disappointed with their quality of work or had an issue with how much they charge. I have mostly worked with the owner, Paul, who is very knowledgeable and what he doesn't know, he is willing to listen and do research about. Paul speaks and listens like a teacher not like some nitwit know it all (you get that attitude in a lot of paint shops around here). Turnaround takes a bit more time, but this is a small shop and that should be understandable. I have had to call them about small jobs because their bread and butter is mostly industrial customers. I can't reasonably expect them to put my $200 job in front of a $2000 job even if the workmanship is pretty much the same. For car engines, they can align bores and do pretty much any level of finish hone you want. You can bring your own parts (I had to have special cam bearings) and they will install them correctly. They produce a high level of craftsmanship in their final product which can't be found in larger shops with more throughput. I only wish they had a dyno so the engine could be set up and ready to go when delivered.

I did have an issue this last go round. Somehow some of the pistons and rods from my motor got mixed with someone elses. I know some of the parts I got back were not mine because they didnt have the grinding on them from when the engine was balanced and hadnt been numbered like the others. They were from the same size engine and the pistons were the same oversize. I took it back to the shop and they said there was no way they could have been mixed up but it was obvious it wasnt right. In the end the owner offered to rebalance the engine. Although it took a while for him to get it done he did make it right without a bunch of grief. Everyone was always very friendly and professional. These are good people and Ill do business with them again.
