Ive been a loyal customer for over 20 years. I was excited as always to pick out my pretty flowers and looking forward to a satisfying shopping experience. That changed after I arrived. There were at least 4 staff members and almost that many customers. Not once did any of them greet me or ask me if I needed help and I had a full cart that I was dragging around. I didnt notice them talking to or greeting any of the other customers. I tried smiling and talking to the cashier who was wearing a navy UK shirt, but she wouldnt crack a smile if you paid her. Oh, wait I did pay her! Im so surprised that the staff totally ignored their customers. No eye contact whatsoever. Last year the lady at the cash register chatted with me, asked if I found everything, and there were at least 2 other staff members that asked if I needed assistance. She even walked me to my car and helped me load. Thats what small business is all about! Newsflash! Theres a Lowes Garden Center right down the road! If you want to keep your customers, whats the cost of a smile or greeting to keep your small business thriving?
