I have been shopping at the Maysville Goodwill since it opened and in the past I have found many clothing items, purses, household items and even furniture in great shape and reasonable prices. Even though I don't find as many items in good condition these days I like to go in on Sundays when the color of the week items are only 99 cents however I have noticed they have workers who are taking down the 99 cent color on Sunday, the day of the sale, through out the store and putting in bends to take to the back. I have witnessed this many times but this last Sunday something went through me so I decided to confront the employee's about this process. They said, we have to make room for more Items. I said but you advertise on Sunday all items with the color of the week will be 99 cents but you are removing them on the same day. I went to the front counter and spoke to the manager and asked the same question and she said the same thing, we have to make room for more items. I said again, but today is the only day the items are 99 cents so you can't wait until tomorrow after the sale to start removing them. She began saying "there's still plenty of things with yellow tags on them" and began to get a attitude with me and then the other employee started mouthing off to me as well. I just don't understand how you can advertise the color of the week will be 99 cents on Sunday but start taking those items out on the same day. Yes there were some left but the point is they were going around the store taking them out before the shoppers got to see all of the items and may have wanted to purchase them during the sale. Because of the poor attitude the Goodwill staff gave me when confronted about deceiving the customer I do not plan to go back to that store. I would say with all the online sales and bidding to drive the sale up this is why you cannot find the better quality merchandise. All the clothing they have now is trash. They are a very greedy company and are not out to help anyone that is truly in need. If you are advertising the color of the week clothing will be 99 cents on Sunday then they need to leave every item with that color on it on the racks for the entire day. Period.

What's the deal, Greedwill?! $55 for old, worn and donated shoes? You claim you're helping the community, but your shoppers aren't rich either. This is not a rich area. I'm going to strictly donate to Another Man's Treasure from now on as they really want to serve their community with reasonable prices. AMT's handbags bags and shoes are all $1.50 each, other things are priced to sell. There's also a new thrift shop downtown off Forest that seems to genuinely want to help the community too. Stop using us to fund your CEO's next Ferrari or whatever expensive car they're going to purchase next and actually price things to help US. This is ridiculous.

Store had a bad odor. Staff member was very rude. Spoke to manager. He was nice, but admitted there had been a number of complaints against this particular staff person. Why keep them? Prices were not great for the quality of items. I don't plan on visiting again. UPDATE: Haven't been here since this was posted over two years ago. Just lowered to one star (should be a zero.) Just watched a video where they wouldn't even help a homeless person out with a pair of shoes at a police officers request!
