Staff and providers are nice. Place is clean and people are friendly. Felt they were attentive to my fluffy family member and did a good job

While I couldnt say enough positive things about this place a few years ago, things have changed. It is now profit first, then care. Their pricing has gotten exorbitant compared to other vets in the city. Since Dr. Mattingly left, I have noticed a big difference in the reception staff and the price gouging. I understand costs have risen, but the pricing here is one of the highest in Louisville. They always push for using their pharmacy, which has a ridiculous markup. The whole staff seems unhappy and tired. They say you get what you pay for to defend their pricing, but dont let that guilt trip you. $600 for a spay is absolutely insane. $180 for insulin is insane. Telling me I can only use a certain expensive glucose meter is wrong. Making me feel like Im giving my pet a worse quality of care because Im not buying the top of the line equipment is wrong. I now know after getting a 2nd and 3rd opinion that I have many other options. But they start with the most expensive and wont tell you about other options unless you ask. If you keep pushing they will finally tell you, well you could, but and then try to make you feel like option b and c are less than ideal. I am changing vets due to this ruthless price gouging. This is wrong.
