This is our fifth year at SFS, and we love it.  My oldest started in junior kindergarten, and her sisters both started in the preschool.  Each summer they count down the days until they are back in school!Being transplants to Louisville, we did our due-diligence when deciding on a school for our kids.  There are many solid choices out there, but what sets SFS aside for us is the school's focus on instilling a love of learning, and encouraging students to strive for academic excellence that may or may not fit the mold.  In our experience, the teachers are excited about teaching.  They integrate their own personal interests and expertise into the classroom experience.  The end effect is that the kids gain genuine lessons, while also getting to personally know their teachers.  Moreover, between the two campuses (the 60+acre Goshen campus, and the downtown location of the HS), the kids have plenty of room to grow and explore their interests in real-world settings.  We love that our children often take their science classes outdoors, or are able to collect natural art supplies from the grounds.  It is not uncommon for math and science teachers to coordinate with art and LASS teachers to engage in cross-topic lessons.  Learning about money in math?  No problem:  let's learn more about presidents in LASS.  Learning at SFS just makes sense.  We also appreciate that the school cultivates a culture of understanding and celebrating differences--differences in appearance, in culture, in socioeconomics, in religion, political stance, sexual orientation, and physical ability.  Our children are eager to share how our family does things differently, prefers different foods, celebrates different customs, etc.  Even at their young age, our children realize that it's ok to hold different views from their classmates' (and their classmates' parents!), and that discourse and dialogue are essential to comprehensive learning. This is a great school!

We have 3 children now at the high school downtown and our journey with St. Francis began  in kindergarten out in Goshen with our oldest in 2007. We have found it to be a compassionate, inclusive environment where children are treated with respect and educational goals are individualized. As our children have gotten older the academic rigor has increased appropriately and our children have continued to be challenged. We have always believed that the faculty on both campuses is top notch. As we've gotten to know the high school faculty we have been astounded by their outstanding qualifications and passion for the subject matter-truly some of the finest high school faculty anywhere. As our oldest prepares to graduate we feel validated in our commitment to St. Francis School.

My daughter has been enrolled at St. Francis since junior kindergarten.  It's a truly wonderful environment; the teachers and staff are extremely supportive and caring and the goshen campus is unmatched in its facilities.  She has healthy lunch options prepared each day by professional chefs.64 acres of land, playgrounds and outdoor classrooms to run off that kid-energy...Great sports programs, we've done soccer each year and she continues to improve as a player and learn the value of teamwork.  The friendships she's formed at St Francis are invaluable.  I'm pleased to be in the company of other families there who hold education in high regard. The best testimonial I can give is that my kid really loves the school.  She's excited to go back after summer break and is genuinely bummed out when she has a day off during the school-year.  St. Francis makes learning fun for kids and streamlines the process for parents.  High recommended!  (and yes you can afford it)
