I am a physical therapist who has had to help my neighbor because amedisys wasnt doing their job (PT and OT). I do not have time to be his caregiver and wish I could give him the time he deserves. I attempt to check on him but I have assessed how he has been treated. The therapists do not spend much time with him. He was barely getting up, unless I came to help him. The Physical therapist would walk him 25 ft for two times while I would walk him 25 ft for 10-15 times. He got a blood clot which I originally thought was cellulitis (which is a staph infection) and the Occupational therapist dismissed it. We called the nurse to come check it and EMS was called. Hes been home from rehab over a month doesnt have a cushion for his wheelchair and has pressure sores. He hasnt had a bath or been shown how to give himself a bath. Its sad because I know what hes suppose to be getting and they re not doing it. He mentioned to me that his newest PT really worked him hard and the nurse took good care of him, but its only been one visit from each discipline. I will update if the care improves.
